SAFETY  AND HEALTH PRECAUTIONS FOR YOUR DOG

    TICKS
Paralysis ticks occur anywhere along the coastal area of eastern Australia, from far north Qld. to around Lakes Entrance in Victoria, and also along the east coast of Tasmania. In northern NSW and Queensland this area extends quite a distance inland. The danger period is spring and early summer. However, animals living in or visiting areas of natural bushland can pick up ticks in ANY MONTH of the year.

    Ticks are life threatening
    to any warm blooded animal

    VACCINATIONS
C4= This cover the following distemper, hepatitis, parvo and parainfluenza 2 (PI2 is one of the viruses that causes the initial damage to the resp.epithelium in the complex infection colloquially known as Kennel Cough, but more correctly Infectious tracheobronchitis)

C5= distemper, hepatitis, parvo, PI2 and Bordatella bronchiseptica (which is one of the bacteria that cause the clinical signs of ITB..ie the most obvious being a nasty dry hacking cough, followed by gagging or expectoration of mucus (lovely!). BB can in fact alone cause clinical signs assoc.with ITB.
Basically, if you want the best protection from "KC", I would suggest that a C5 vacc. will be preferable, and is certainly the standard requested at any decent boarding facility.
